Aquaculture in the Nicoya Peninsula is a thriving commercial activity due to its proximity to the sea. Currently, the shrimp farms of the Hermanos Zamora Murillo are actively engaged in shrimp farming in a controlled environment. The farm features 12 ponds for shrimp production.

La Camoronera de los Hermanos Zamora Murillo is located in the District of Lepanto, which, along with Paquera and Cóbano, constitutes one of the three peninsular districts of Puntarenas. Lepanto is situated at the southern end of the Nicoya Peninsula. Its main town and most populated settlement is Jicaral, which is 10 km from Lepanto, 54 km from Nicoya, and 130 km from Liberia. It is connected to the province of Guanacaste via Route 21.

Lepanto is the only peninsular district of Puntarenas that, in terms of geographical position, is located between two urban centers of the Pacific. It is connected to cities in Guanacaste such as Nicoya, Santa Cruz, and Liberia via Route 21 and to Puntarenas via the Gulf of Nicoya. Additionally, it has connections with Paquera and Cobano. Access can be via Ferry (Coonatramar or Naviera Tambor) from Puntarenas or by road through the La Amistad Bridge over the Tempisque River. In its main town, Jicaral, you can access basic services such as banks, a CCSS clinic, courts, supermarkets, a gas station, shops, and more.

Lastly, the Nicoya Peninsula is part of the exclusive list of the five “Blue Zones” in the world, making this area a tourist attraction. Additionally, the Gulf of Nicoya is very close, providing access to a wide variety of beaches and tourist sites near the properties.
